Hippogriffs are creatures with the head, wings,
and forelegs of a griffin; and the body, hind legs, and
tail of a horse. These beasts can be found worldwide, but
are native to Europe. Experts can tame hippogriffs, as
they can be quite dangerous if they want to be.
On approaching the hippogriff, eye contact must be
made, and you must bow. If the hippogriff bows back, it
is all right to come further.
Hippogriffs
like eating insects, but also will eat small animals and
birds. Hippogriffs build ground nests, and lay a single
egg that will hatch within a day. The baby hippogriffs
are able to fly within a week, but it would be months
until they can fly on longer journeys.
