District's New Reading Series
The District 97 elementary reading committee has selected a new reading series that will replace Open Court in fall 2011. The new series is Treasures from MacMillan/McGraw-Hill (copyright 2011). Prior to final adoption by the Board of Education, parents and community members are invited to review samples of the new materials, which will be on display in the teaching and learning department at the district's administration building (970 Madison Street) during normal working hours (8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.) from Monday, August 30 through Friday, September 10. If you are unable to review the materials during these times, please call (708) 524-3017 or e-mail psylvester@op97.org to make other arrangements.

Information About Potential Referendum
District 97 is currently considering whether to seek a referendum in spring 2011. We are committed to keeping you updated throughout the decision-making process and providing you with access to resources you can use to study this issue. There will also be opportunities (community forums, online surveys, etc.) for you to ask questions and/or share your thoughts.
